TOSHIO HIRASAWA

Guitar, bass, ukulele, and voice Teacher

Toshio is a university trained Piano/Theory teacher and Composer located in Toronto. He has a passion for helping students develop a high musical potential and help them feel comfortable with instrument and score. He currently teach using Hangouts, Skype, and Zoom;  and uses an audio routing software that enables students to receive crystal clear sound from his Piano.

Toshio has studied the Piano for 24 years. He studied with Juno nominated Concert Pianist Christina Petrowska Quilico a student of the legend Rosina Lhevinne. He an RCM accompanist for Level 8 Voice and Violin, and ARCT Flute.

He prepares students for recitals, competitions, auditions, and exams. He teaches children and adults and accept students of all levels (beginner to ARCT) Classical, Jazz, Pop, Soundtrack, and Composition. As an industry musician, he’s written for entertainment companies and composed for film.

 

He strives to share a love of learning with students - and fellow teachers. My interests are in 20th century Pianism - such as Sviatoslav Richter, Alfred Cortot, Bill Evans, Art Tatum, and etc. He’s currently recording Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas.

Daniel Ciantar

Guitar, bass, ukulele, and voice Teacher

When Daniel was thirteen years old, he was given his very first guitar and it has been an essential part of his life ever since.

 

He began performing in 2005 and at age fifteen and began taking on students of his own. He continued to teach and perform while attending classes at York University for jazz guitar.

 

During his time at York he studied various styles of music such as Jazz, Blues, Flamenco, Classical Music and  Finger-style guitar.

 

After graduating with his Bachelor of Fine Arts he continued to teach lessons privately as well as in schools while earning his Bachelor of Education.

 

He is now the founder of silver string music lessons.
